About Hong Kong Volunteer Award
The Hong Kong Volunteer Award
The Hong Kong Volunteer Award (“HKV-Award”) is a territory wide volunteer recognition scheme co-organised by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Agency for Volunteer Service, with support from the “JC VOLUNTEER TOGETHER” Project funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust. The HKV-Award is dedicated to recognising the contributions and achievements of volunteers across the community, including youth, families, corporations, organisations, uniformed groups, estates and schools. As a widely-recognised, impactful and credible scheme, the HKV-Award aligns with the Government’s policy direction to encourage broader participation in volunteer service, particularly among youth, individuals aged 50 or above, and first-time or returning volunteers. By promoting care for the underprivileged and uniting the collective community efforts through volunteering, the HKV-Award plays a vital role in fostering a caring and inclusive society.
The HKV-Award comprises two main award categories, assessed through audit review and adjudication: Volunteer Hours and Outstanding Awards. These categories encompass individuals, young volunteers, teams, families, uniformed groups, corporations, non-commercial organisations, estates and schools. Through its diversified award structure, the scheme further promotes the spirit of “Care for Hong Kong, Everyone Volunteers”.
