About Hong Kong Volunteer Award
The Hong Kong Volunteer Award
Hong Kong Volunteer Award (“HKV-Award”), a volunteer recognition scheme co-organised by the Home and Youth Affairs Bureau and the Agency for Volunteer Service, supported through “JC VOLUNTEER TOGETHER” Project which is funded by The Hong Kong Jockey Club Charities Trust, is dedicated to recognising the contributions and achievements of volunteers, youth, uniformed groups, corporations, organisations, estates and schools. As a widely-recognised, impactful and credible scheme, the Award echoes the direction of government policy in motivating more people particularly the youth, people aged 50 or above, and those who are first-time or returning to volunteering, to care for the underprivileged, and in uniting the power from the community to build a caring and inclusive society.
There are two main categories in the HKV-Award (in terms of audit review and adjudication): volunteer hours and outstanding, covering individual, young volunteer, team, uniformed group, corporation, non-commercial organisation, estate and school. The diversified award categories aim to further promoting the spirit of “Care for Hong Kong, Everyone Volunteers”.
