To encourage individuals who are first-time volunteers or returning to volunteer service. This award pays tribute to rising star volunteers’ outstanding performance and achievements in promoting volunteering. It aims to enhance public awareness and social recognition and establish an exemplary volunteering model for the community to encourage more people to follow.
Eligibility for Application
- Candidates MUST possess a valid HKSAR identity card, or special approval from the HKSAR government to carry out volunteering activities in Hong Kong (Non-permanent residents of HKSAR shall check with the Immigration Department for their eligibility to carry out volunteering activities and if applicable, obtain the necessary permit)
- This award aims to encourage individuals who are first time volunteers or returning to volunteer service. Rising Star Volunteer means individual who volunteered through registered commercial or non-profit organisations, including: government departments, statutory bodies, chambers of commerce, professional bodies or uniformed groups during 1 January 2024 to 31 December 2024, but not in the past five years (1 January 2019 to 31 December 2023)
- Have a track record of active participation in volunteering and promoting volunteerism in Hong Kong, across the border or overseas. All service records for the period MUST be endorsed by the above-mentioned recognised organisations or bodies; and nominated by an individual or organisation
Judging and Selection Criteria*
To be selected by the Judging Panel according to the below judging criteria:
* All judging items will be based on the activities, policy and impact in the year of 2024 (1 January 2024 to 31 December 2024)
